A typical starter kit contains 10 to 30 books. These
will enable you to produce an attractive display at any event. The
brochure shows some of the books from our range of over 1,000 titles for
babies, children and adults of all ages. If you are interested in an
enjoyable part-time job selling our fantastic books locally or looking
to build an exciting home-based business (or something in between!) I
would be delighted to help you achieve your goals.
WHAT DOES AN USBORNE CONSULTANT ACTUALLY DO?|
You will be collecting orders by showing the books to people at
events you have organized in homes, pre-school groups, offices, schools
(or anywhere else!), as well as showing catalogues and leaflets to
individuals. We have attractive incentives for customers and hosts (free
and/or discounted books) and an extremely generous free book allowance
for schools. You decide how much time to give to your Usborne business,
and how much you want to earn. There are no compulsory targets.
HOW MUCH WILL I EARN?
You will start earning 20% commission immediately, and after $1000
in sales get 22%, so you can earn $100 in a couple of hours at a
well-planned event. However, there are opportunities for much bigger
earnings, with commission on personal sales rising to 33%. In addition
to commission on sales, many of our consultants earn over $1,000 in team
bonuses every month once they have built up their businesses, and our
top consultants often receive five-figure monthly cheques.
DO I HAVE TO BUY STOCK?
There is no compulsory stock outlay or risk. Your customers pay you
when they order, then you order their books from Usborne Books at Home,
keeping your commission. Delivery of the books to you takes about one
week. You will be able to build up your display stock cheaply using the
monthly half-price and other special offers. In your first 12 weeks you
will also be offered (through our start-up incentives) the opportunity
to earn lots of free books and entry to our prestigious ‘Executive
Club’.
I’M ALREADY VERY BUSY, HOW MUCH TIME WILL I NEED?
Many of our successful consultants had very busy lives and young
children when they started, but found that the flexibility of working
with Usborne books suited them better than the fixed hours and child
care costs of a normal job. You will find that you can promote Usborne
books, generate sales and organise events during the course of your
normal daily activities, without the need to find large chunks of extra
time. Once you have developed your business locally you will find it
easy to get repeat bookings and new customers regularly. Any time you
need to boost your income temporarily or permanently you can step up
your Usborne activities and earn more! Your Supervisor will always be
available to offer support and advice.

WHEN CAN I START?
Start now, by making a list of potential contacts and arranging a
date for your ‘launch’ event. Send off the completed agreement form and
payment for the starter kit. Then speak to your sponsor (recruiter). We
offer free training and support to help you get started and be
successful.
ARE THERE ANY QUOTAS?
To maintain active status just sell $500 over a 6 month period. That
can be as little as one party! A further 3 months probation is granted
if needed. However, you will never be asked to pay back money or give
any books back!!!
